Rust server monitoring: wipes, players online and ping
RustTV.org collects Rust servers from the official Steam list, follows how full they are and works out when each of them wipes next. Pick a server by region, ping and wipe day — and be first on a fresh start.
What RustTV.org does
-
The whole catalog
Thousands of servers from the official Steam list: official, community and modded. The database is synced every 10 minutes.
-
Wipe schedules
For the large networks — the schedule from their own site; for everyone else — a prediction from the wipe history of the server itself. The force wipe on the first Thursday of the month is always accounted for.
-
Live player counts
Players, queue and map are queried from the servers directly every few minutes: you see how full a server really is, not a cache from yesterday.
-
Ping without installing anything
The site estimates the latency to every server from the distance to it, and the Chrome extension measures the real ping directly.
-
Filters that matter
Region, network, server type, wipe day, online only. Sort by players, wipe time, rank or comfort.
-
Favourites
Save servers — the "Favourites" tab works even with no connection, and the extension reminds you about the wipe.
How to pick a Rust server
Progress in Rust is reset by a wipe: the server erases buildings and items, and everyone starts from nothing. Joining mid-cycle means playing against clans that are already entrenched, which is why experienced players look for a freshly wiped server or wait for the next one. RustTV.org shows the time of the last wipe and the prediction of the next one for every server — so you arrive on an even start.
Schedules are taken from the sites of the gaming networks (Rustafied, Magic Rust and others), and where no schedule is published, the prediction is built from the wipe history of that particular server. Once a month, on the first Thursday, Facepunch ships an update — the force wipe, a mandatory wipe of every non-modded server; it is part of every prediction.
Ping and population matter as much as the wipe: filter the catalog by region and wipe day, turn on "online only", sort by player count or comfort — and pick the server worth living through a whole cycle on.
Questions and answers
-
What is a wipe in Rust?
A wipe is the regular reset of the game world: the server deletes buildings and items, sometimes blueprints too, after which every player starts from scratch. Servers wipe on their own schedule — usually weekly, biweekly or monthly.
-
When is the force wipe?
The force wipe happens on the first Thursday of every month, around 19:00 London time, together with the monthly Rust update from Facepunch. At that moment every non-modded server wipes.
-
How do I find out when a particular server wipes?
Open the catalog: every server shows the time of its last and its next wipe — from the schedule of the network or from the prediction. The "wipe day" filter shows the servers wiping on the date you pick.
-
How accurate is the wipe prediction?
If the network publishes a schedule, that schedule is what you see. Otherwise the prediction is built from the steady interval in the wipe history of the server; when there is not enough history, a dash is shown — there are no invented dates here.
-
Why is the ping approximate?
A browser cannot send the UDP packets the game uses, so the site estimates the latency from the distance to the server. The Chrome extension measures the real response time directly — with your permission.
-
How much does it cost?
Nothing: RustTV.org is a free and open catalog. The project is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios.
